Description

Dear Friends (Original) – Firesign Theatre, vinyl 1972 Firesign NM

This is the super rare complete 12 album version of Dear Friends, by the legendary Firesign Theatre, broadcast in Los Angeles in 1971, and released as vinyl transcriptions. Each record is almost an hour long. Self released by the group, only a couple hundred of these sets were made.
The first record is a live recording from 1970, Live at the Ash Grove in Los Angeles, the rest are the Firesigns live in the KPFK studios. Some tracks were written out and some were improvised on the air by the four talented members of the group. All of the bits found on the commercially released double album are here, plus quite a few bits that were never released anywhere else, such as an early version of Giant Rat entitled The Fuse of Doom.
Being a special radio release, these records NEVER HAD A REGULAR COVER. However, a cover salvaged from a different box set became their home in my collection and they were protected by clear poly sleeves inside the paper sleeves. This was my broadcast copy, so the vinyl has been taken care of and has no scratches and is in beautiful condition. It was played several times on my radio show, Insanity Palace over the years and my own deejay notes describing the tracks are on the paper sleeves. Track titles were taken from the record wherever possible (but you’ll have to trust my judgement on some, there were no liner notes).

Record One – Live at the Ash Grove 11/15/70; Record Two – Power Is Trouble and Trouble’s Not Funny!; Record Three – I Could Always Shoot Him With The Camera; Record Four – Somebody Put a Mickey In The Ground Zero!; Record Five – All We Have To Fear Is Me; Record Six – Record Seven – Deputy Dan Will Find Us No Matter Where We Go; Record Eight – Was There A Cow On The Moon?; Being On Radio Is More Fun Than Watching TV; Record Nine – Dr. Memory’s Laff-A-While News; Record Ten – All Nite Images; Record Eleven – Welcome to Microorganism State Park; Record Twelve – Is This The Machine That Answers No “N” Yes?

All my records are shipped in cardboard record boxes with extra cardboard stiffeners. Multiple orders can be boxed together.
