David Crosby "If I Could Only Remember My Name"
This is an original US vinyl pressing on Atlantic 7203 from 1971. This was his first and best solo album. This is a hard to find stereo white label promo copy. It comes in the original textured gatefold cover. This copy has his name and the album title on a clear sticker on the front cover at top right. ( regular stock copies did not have his name anywhere on the cover. This made it harder to recognize and to know that it was a David Crosby album ) He gets help on this record from important friends : The Grateful Dead ( Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzman, and Mickey Hart ), Jefferson Airplane ( Grace Slick, Jack Casidy, Paul Kantner, David Frieberg, and Jorma Kaukonen ) , CSN&Y ( Graham Nash and Neil Young ), Journey ( Gregg Rolie and Michael Shrieve ) , and Joni Mitchell. The music is almost as good as CSN&Y.
Overall Condition is : Cover is M- / Record is M-
The vinyl looks near mint and it plays near mint. The cover is near mint with no ring wear, no writing , and no seam splits. There are promo stickers on the front cover : one has suggested cuts and the other says promotional copy not for sale. The labels are clean with light spindle marks. The record comes in an Atlantic Records inner sleeve.
The songs are : Music Is Love, Cowboy Movie, Tamalpais High, Laughing, What Are Their Names, Traction In The Rain, Song With No Words, Orleans, and I'd Swear There Was Somebody Here.
I have been buying and selling records for more than 25 years. I sell records at all Northwest record conventions and at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon.
I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard. One sheet is 3/4 inch thick triple strength industrial cardboard. The other sheet is 1/4 inch double strength cardboard. Together they are very strong and unbendable. ( Even the postmen comment on how strong this cardboard is ! ) It will weigh 24 ounces ( 1 pound, 8 ounces ) when ready to ship. US bidders can figure out your own postage costs for US priority or Media Mail. All US winners will get shipping through Paypal with a tracking number. Overseas buyers must use First Class Mail International. I will let you know the date I mailed your record and the US customs number. ( Buyers from Italy must assume all risks for shipping to their country. ) I will remove the record from the cover and place them in a plastic bag. I will send it as soon as you pay ( same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM.) I will combine shipping if you win more than one record. There are no handling charges. This record is from a no smoking and no pets home.
