Description

I am selling some of my personal vinyl collection. Most of these records are UK pressings and many were purchased by me new in the 1970’s/80’s. They have been extremely well looked after, most having only been played a handful of times on Linn or Rega turntables with a light stylus tracking force of 1.5 to 1.75 g.

Unless stated otherwise, the vinyl can be considered in near mint or excellent condition (according to Record Collector grading system) with no significant marks and great dynamic audio – basically much the same as it came out of the original shop. The covers vary in condition but most are excellent just showing the usual signs of storage. Most have been stored in plastic protective covers.

This is one of a series of records I am selling so please see my other listings. The more you buy, the more you will save on shipping!

All these records have also been professionally cleaned using a £3,000 Keith Monks Omni VII Record Cleaning Machine, possibly the best record cleaning machine in the world! This significantly reduces background noise, really opening up the sound and increasing fidelity. Records are then placed in new inner sleeves, Nagaoka or similar.

This album is David Bowie's classic "The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars" on RCA Glossy Orange label SF 8287.

Matrix (dead wax) marks BGBS 0864-2E/BGBS 0865-2E, rare early English Pressing. Gem Productions (no Mainman) logo on rear sleeve, "Victor" on glossy orange label with "Titanic/Chrysalis" credits on labels, lyric inner sleeve. All these factors mark it out as an early pressing!

Vinyl grading is probably a "very good +" according to the Record Collector Guide. Test played superbly on my new Rega RP6 turntable with great dynamic sound and minor background noise. Some minor surface marks and hairlines on the vinyl which do not affect play in any way.

Original Robert Stace sleeve is in excellent overall condition as it has been stored in a plastic cover in recent years. Some slight edge and ring wear. Original lyric inner sleeve is also in good overall condition with no rips or tears.

An audiophile classic - see large scale pictures below.

I dispatch worldwide in reinforced heavy duty LP mailers with cardboard reinforcements either side.

See my other auctions as I can combine postage which saves money. I can generally get up to three records in an individual mailer (a double album counts as 2 records). Typical postage prices as follows:

UK: 1 record £3.75, 2 records £5, 3 records £6.00.

EU: 1 record £6.00, 2 records £8, 3 records £9.50.

International: 1 record £8.50, 2 records £11.00, 3 records £12.50.

Some countries may require International Signed For so please ask.

Please see my feedback, particularly on other records I have sold, and save me as a favourite seller as I will be listing many more records in batches this year.
