Description

Young Americans is one of my favourite Bowie albums. This Ryko Gold CD is my favourite edition because it's just a beautiful package but it has a great sound and some fabulous rare tracks too.  This copy is in very good condition. The CD is almost pristine. The fold out booklet and limited edition insert are pristine. The jewel case has signs of shelf wear because it was kept carefully in my cd collection rather than given very special treatment.  Please see all the pictures for a good idea of the condition and the contents.


Background: I bought my David Bowie Ryko CDs in Tower Records, Washington DC and New York around 1996.  I was very lucky to be able to visit for work a few times back then. These CDs have been the primary sources for my Bowie listening but they have hardly been played because I always treated these discs carefully and the tracks were transferred onto a computer by the later 1990s. The CDs were kept in my regular CD collection and the jewel cases show normal shelf wear but the CDs are all in excellent conditon due to the low rate of play and special treatment. The limited edition gold Ryko discs include extremely good transfers of Bowie's works transferred carefully from the master tapes and this makes these discs quite special (these analogue tapes are now very precious and, as far as I can tell from the last box set, excellent digital copies are now the main source).
