David Bowie Young Americans RCA APL1 0998
This edition of Young Americans published in New Zealand has a unique sleeve in that the printers did not take that much care with the publishing of the full colour artwork. The front of the sleeve has a green hue or tint when compared to other releases of the Young Americans album across the world.
I bought this album new from a local record retailer (along with New Zealand copies of PinUps and Hunky Dory). Occasionaly RCA New Zealand copies of Bowie's albums were sold in Australia. You will find it very difficult to obtain a better copy of this rare issue of Young Americans. From my own personal collection of David Bowie albums, as are all the Bowie albums I have listed.
I bought this album new in the early 1980s, placed it in a high quality click seal plastic sleeve when I arrived home, and stored it upright. It has never been played. I took it out of the plastic sleeve for the first time to take the photographs.
Condition of the vinyl: Mint- (visual inspection). The vinyl is in mint condition. There are no major flaws. The labels are immaculate with no spindle marks. Please see the photographs.
Condition of the sleeve. Excellent+. The sleeve is in the same condition as when I bought the album. The title spine is immaculate. There are no seam splits, tears or evidence of ring wear. The edges are crisp. It is an excellent album of the RCA New Zealand sleeve. There is a minor crease in the top left hand corner and some tiny marks lower right. Please see the photographs.
There was no printed insert with this edition of the album.
