Unique Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth 7” Acetate with Custom Headed Authenticity Letter and Original Mailer
Cut at Tape One Studios this 7” 1 sided acetate, as the accompanying letter states, is the only one in existence
Accompanying letter is written on Custom Headed Tape 1 paper and also comes with the original Mailer dated 29th October 1982
Disc label, letter of authenticity and mailer are all in the same handwriting making this a complete package of rock history
Amazing provenance like this makes this unique acetate even more appealing as a Bowie rarity and Blue Chip Pop Culture investment
Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy" is a Christmas song with an added counterpoint performed by David Bowie and Bing Crosby. "The Little Drummer Boy" is a Christmas song written in 1941, while the "Peace on Earth" tune and lyrics, written by Ian Fraser, Larry Grossman, and Alan Kohan, were added to the song specially for Bowie and Crosby's recording.
Whilst being recorded shortly before Bing’s death in 1977, the record was not actually released until Christmas 1982 and this acetate was sent out 29th October 1982
Timed at 4.21 this 1 sided acetate is in very good condition with just a couple of surface marks. I can’t confirm if the cut is different or the same as the released version
