Description
DAVID BOWIE "THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD" LP Mercury Records STEREO SR 61325
This is the original 1st pressing of the LP that was the first released in the United States on 4th November 1970. The LP did not sell well and this was attributed to the sleeve being deemed somewhat distasteful as it depicted a lunatic asylum and a cowboy with his mind being blown. The LP was then released in the U.K. 5 months later with the front sleeve bearing a photograph of Bowie sitting on a sofa wearing a dress. Due to the sales success of the U.K. version the rare original U.S. cartoon sleeve became highly sought after.
The Vinyl is in Excellent Condition with a very few hairlines that are from sleeve removal and do not affect play. There is also some kind of pressing mark on side 1, which has bears no indentation on the vinyl. I have play tested the vinyl and it plays superb, with a full rich sound. The Sleeve is in Excellent Condition, with no discolouration or fading to the printed sleeve.
'Hard to find a better copy than this'
I HAVE A FEW OTHER BOWIE ITEMS LISTED FOR SALE ON EBAY AT THE MOMENT.
NB: I am not a record dealer and all the vinyl comes from my own personal collection. I aim to grade honestly and accurately. I would like the buyer to be happy and receive the records in a condition as described that I would like receive them in myself.
