Super-rare New Zealand original Space Oddity by Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud 45 on the Philips label from 1969! One of the rarest of the Philips issues out there and a real rarity on eBay. The A side label has barely-visible writing in black ink - it can hardly be seen against the navy blue paper label. The b-side label has an NZBC sticker on it and no writing. The vinyl itself is in a sturdy VG+ to EX- condition. There are light marks that do not affect play. One of the nicest things about this record - which comes in a plain sleeve - is that the original NZBC record library card is still intact, and included in this auction, so you get a souvenir record of when this disc was played! First airing seems to have been on 24 November 1969 and the last on 16 July 1986. "David Bowie - Space Oddity - Philips BF 304201 Wild Eyed Boy From Free Cloud" is typed at the top of the card. There is also a handwritten argument between several NZBC DJs about how Bowie's name is pronounced. "Pronounced Boui". "Balls". "Don't Tell Me - Tell Pete Sinclair!" "If anyone should know Petey should", and finally "Uncle Ken says Boui". You couldn't ask for more entertainment value from one record!!! Card is in EX condition. Don't let this one pass! I've been collecting Bowie vinyl for decades - but changing work circumstances means it's time to clear out the cupboards and move along. Some of these things will be hard to part with - so I hope they go to a good home! Payment via Paypal is great.
