You're looking at one of the best sounding versions of "Hunky Dory" ever produced, in fact this pressing is as good as orange RCA UK copies. Released in 1997 with heavy quality sleeve and on 180gr Virgin Vinyl this is the 21th album in EMI's "Centenary" series and incidentally also the first title where EMI switched the manufacturing process from digital sources to all analogue tapes due to public demand. Meaning that this - and the 20 albums following (Japan's "Tin Drum" is the 41th and last release) - boast analogue cutting from analogue tapes resulting in a stunning listening experience. Most of these Centenary albums are collectible but since this was 1997 these albums came out in very limited quantities and are now not easy to track down. These will only go up in price in the years to come and this is one of the most collectible releases from this series!
Beautiful copy, owned since new and handled with care. I even removed the "EMI100 Centenary"-sticker from the frontcover and stuck it to the polylinered innersleeve. There basically are two "flaws"; three small "grains" on Side One, these were already there when I bought it and probably will go away with a good cleaning. They result in a few seconds of "Plops" in "Changes" and "Life On Mars?". Apart from that record and cover are in EXCELLENT condition!
