DAVID BOWIE - 'HUNKY DORY'
This genuine UK 1st pressing dates from initial December 1971 release and is on the glossy orange RCA Victor label: SF 8244
Matrix numbers: ARPS 5947 3T & ARPS 5948 3T
'BOBIL/AIE' &' Rasputin/AID' are also hand-etched into each respective run-out.
Disc weight: 129g
The disc is housed in a rare front laminated 'Robert Stace' printed cover which was only available for a limited period on initial release.
Complete with lyric sheet and plain white die-cut inner-sleeve.

A striking clean & shiny set with light wear to each centre hole, but no further blemishes or wear.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Both playing surfaces are clean and glossy but do display several light surface marks and a few light scratches consistent with frequent handling and play. Close inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals numerous wispy hairlines but no feelable or major marks. Both sides of this rare copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: VERY GOOD
This copy has been played many times and bears audible evidence of this, namely some light background in the quieter passages and the occasional light click. However, there are no jumps, repeats, heavy clicks or any other such major audible distractions on this cherished copy which is still enjoyable to listen to.
Cover: VERY GOOD
A respectable example of this rare cover which displays moderate handling and storage wear but no major faults. The glossy front panel bears some wrinkling to the edges and a handful of 'thumbnails' towards the front opening edge, but no heavy creasing or damage. There is rubbing to the corner's extremities but no significant wear to either opening edge. The rear panel is clean overall and free from any writing or missing paper. Both seams are smooth, unstressed & unsplit and the spine, despite a few bends, retains all is wording and undamaged.
Inner-sleeve & lyric sheet: VERY GOOD +
Both are clean with light creasing from storage, but no writing, tears or splits.
