DAVID BOWIE - 'HUNKY DORY'
This EXCELLENT UK 1st pressing of Bowie's 4th and arguably best solo album dates from initial December 1971 release
It is on the glossy orange & white RCA label: SF 8244
Matrix numbers: APRS 5947 3T & APRS 5948 3T
'Bobil' & 'Rasputin' are hand-etched into each run-out.
Vinyl weight: 132g
Housed within a rare front laminated 'Robert Stace' printed cover, with printed lyric insert sheet & plain white die-cut inner-sleeve.

An immaculate pair with no spindle trails or indeed any traces of any wear to or around either centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both playing surfaces are extremely clean and retain all of their original deep-gloss factory shine. Strong daylight shows up several light, non-feelable hairlines, but nothing I would call a scratch. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals does little more than amplify these minor blemishes ,adding only a few light inner-sleeve storage marks and a sparkling rainbow shine. Both sides of this cherished copy lie 100% flat on the turntable.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT -
This fine sounding copy has been carefully played aand is without any significant deterioration to the sound quality overall. My single careful playcheck at volume detected little more than some light vinyl background in some of the quieter passages and two clicks on 'Fill Your Heart'. However, apart from that, there really is little to fault on this masterpiece.
Cover: EXCELLENT
This rare cover retains a clean, unfaded high-gloss front panel laminate bearing only some moderate storagewear rubbing & a small handful of faint thumbanils towards the front opening edge.
There are also some more light wrinkles to the spine and upper edge & minor wear to the left two corners, but both opening edges are unworn & undamaged. The rear panel has several foxing/age spots, but is free from any writing or missing paper.
The spine is fully laminated and worded along its entire length and both seams are smooth, unstressed & unsplit.
Insert: EXCELLENT
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Uncreased & unworn with slight age-toning to the edges but no writing or splits to any seam.
