DAVID BOWIE - 'DAVID BOWIE'
1967 UK *1st STEREO* DERAM LP
**SUPERB COPY**
This ultra-rare 1967 UK 1st STEREO pressing of Bowie's 1st LP is on the red & white Deram label: SML 1007
Being pressed by Decca, both labels bear a distinctive 'groove' running 1cm inside each label's perimeter.
A 'KT' tax/price code is stamped in each run-out.
Housed in a front laminated, non-flipback 'Clout & Baker Ltd.' printed stereo cover.
Complete with its original poly-lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: ZAL 7754-1W & ZAL 7755-1W
Stamper numbers: 1/B & 1/U
Disc weight: 151g
Just some very small & faint spindle trails around each hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS
Both surfaces of this impressive copy are perfectly clean, clear & glossy and apart from a single 3cm light fingernail mark on side 1, are totally unmarked in strong direct daylight.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals just a few barely visible inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no further marks or wear.
Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable on both sides with no signs of dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS
Immaculate sound quality on this very first pressing. All tracks are electrifying and totally free of any groovewear distortion or background noise.
My careful play-check at volume revealed just three faint ticks on the introduction to track 3 on side 1 but no other audible faults or wear elsewhere on this barely played copy.
Both run-ins and all bands play silently and without any intereference.
I guarantee you will not be disappointed here.
Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS
An extremely respectable example with a clean & glossy front panel which bears just a slight disc impression from storage and a single crease to the lower right corner, but no major signs of wear.
The corners are clean and square with no bumps or tears. There is a small area of lifting to the laminate towards the upper part of the spine and a few small 'pushes' to the rear opening edge, but no tears of 'feathering'.
The rear panel is clean with just a few small age- spots and a small name discreetly written in the upper right corner but no missing paper or other faults.
Both seams & the spine are strong & unsplit and the spine is clean, straight & fully worded.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean, white & flat with minor storagewear but no tears, writing or splits.
