1964 UK 1st PRESSING LP

This EXCELLENT copy of their 1964 album debut is a UK 1st mono pressing on the blue & black Columbia label: 33SX 1598

Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Columbia Graphophone Co. Ltd..' rims.

The 'KT' tax/price code is present in the centre of the side 1 label.

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.

Complete with its original rice-paper lined 'Use Emitex..' inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: XAX 2165-1N & XAX 2166-1N

Stamper codes: 1/M & 1/P

Disc weight: 157g

Labels: EXCELLENT -

Both are clean & bright with a small collection of spindle trails around each centre holes, which have been slightly touched-up.

Visual: VERY GOOD +

Clean, bright & glossy surface which bear just some light wispy hairlines in strong daylight consistent with a moderate amount of careful play. There are certainly no heavy marks or any deep or feelable scratches and close inspection examination directly beneath my halogen desk lamp reveals no further faults or any other signs of wear.

Play: EXCELLENT

This copy has received a numerous careful plays but sounds clean, clear and immensely powerful throughout with no groove/play wear or any background noise present. My careful play check at volume also found no clicks, pops, ticks or any other such audible distraction.

Cover

VERY GOOD +

A very clean & strong example with a glossy, undamaged front panel bearing just a few light 'thumbnails', but no other significant signs of wear. There is some light corner rubbing and slight wear to the rear opening edge, but no tears either side. The rear panel is clean & bright and free from any marks, writing or missing paper. All flipbacks are fully intact, as are both seams and the fully worded spine.

EXCELLENT

Clean & crisp with slight age-toning but no writing or other major faults.

• Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
