EXTREMELY  RARE  ORIGINAL  VINYL  LP  album of "TOWARDS THE LIGHT" by DAN LEWIS !  This album was released in 1979 by a small
private press label called IMAGINARY RECORDS with the catalog number IM-001.  A total of 1,000 LPs were pressed in 1979.
Imaginary Records was the name that the artist chose to use, because there was actually no record company; hence, "Imaginary" Records.

This unique collectable recording is a private press release from 1979, created by a young folk songwriter in the Blue Ridge mountains of
western North Carolina. Containing 12 songs, Dan Lewis wrote all the words and music, and performed on 12 instruments on the various songs,
including acoustic guitars, bass guitar, electric slide guitar, mandolin, harmonicas, tambourine, talking drum, folk harp, 32 string ukelin, piano,
organ and synthesizer.      Lewis also drew the front cover art and liner notes art..

Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Lewis performed at many local and regional festivals and venues for many years,
playing original songs on a variety of instruments. The music on the LP is influenced by old time mountain music, bluegrass, traditional and
comtemporary folk music and others. Lewis went on to record another 10 albums of original music, from improvisational piano, mountain music influenced,
contemporary folk to synthesizer instrumentals. His last recording features a live 1980 concert in Asheville, NC with Bob Moog, the famous synthesizer inventor.

3) Love From Afar   -    a sad lament from a phone booth... "finger in one ear, to shut out the world, and to hold in the love from afar"
4) Dizzy            -           a celebration of impending romance...keyboards, bass, drums and vocals
5) Hometown       -        melancholy musings about his hometown... "It seems like only yesterday, though days have past like falling leaves, as life slips by within
                                   the same old town of memories and make-believe"
6) Kitchen Floor Waltz  -  a song about waltzing and reincarnation   "Can you remember what you've never known, an old step you've not danced before?"

     SIDE 2
1) In My Windowpane  -  a simple, perfect little song performed on mandolin, bass and dulcimer
2) Right Here         -        musings about fate and destiny    "How many times when I thought I'd go out of my head?...and wished that my luck had been somebody else's
                                             instead?"
3) Blue Ridge Lullaby   -  a traditional mountain influenced waltz, a love song to the Blue Ridge  "There'll be more shades of green than you've ever seen, and you've
                                                not seen Heaven till then"
4) Nobody's Baby for Long  -  Mountain folk meets 50s rock & roll  "so tell me that you love me, but don't tell me how long, 'cause I'm nobody's baby for long"
5) Spring Thaw     -   another mandolin based uptempo neo- mountain folk song    "you're cuter than a possum eatin' watermellon seeds"
6) Time    -    performed on folk harp  "a fateful river ever-flowing 'round the bend, a clock of destiny, winding slowly down to reach the end; it must be time, again"
