Daft Punk Homework

Description Details

2022 reissue on Daft Punk's label Daft Life Ltd! 2LP vinyl in gatefold cover! At the beginning of 2021, Daft Punk announced their dissolution. The French duo, founded in 1993 and consisting of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, pioneered French house music.

The debut album “Homework” was released in 1997. Daft Punk initially produced tracks with no plans to release an album. After five months of working on projects intended as separate singles, they felt the material was good enough for an album. In particular, the singles “Around the World”, “Revolution 909” and “Da Funk” were international successes. The album charted in 14 countries, including No. 3 on the French Albums Chart, No. 150 on the United States Billboard 200, No. 8 in the UK and No. 44 in Germany, bringing French house music worldwide attention. It has sold more than 2.5 million copies in 35 countries so far.

Today, “Homework” is considered an influential classic of electronic dance music, not least because of its great willingness to experiment with house, punk influences and distorted samples. The music magazine Rolling Stone even voted it number one of the “30 best EDM albums of all time.” Reason enough that it will be reissued again in 2021.

About Us

Our founding year in 1998 - long after vinyl was declared dead and long before vinyl was celebrated as a cool thing again - proves that we are real vinyl nerds. We started out as a small record dealer from home. Later we opened our first real record store and of course our own online shop. Everything out of passion and always with the motto: SAVE THE VINYL. What is not available online is available in our store in Übersee, Frühlingsweg 22. Overseas? Yes. Übersee Am Chiemsee. Directly on the A8 motorway, between Munich and Salzburg. Here you will also find a fine selection of second-hand vinyl.
We also have a large selection of equipment from many manufacturers. Simply everything you need when it comes to vinyl...
