Original private pressing from 1965 of this insanely rare Dutch 60s beat 45 from a group called The Typhoons. 110 732 F...
The group were from Texel - a small island in the North of the country - and they recorded these 2 cuts for the Institute for The Blind. (joined here by a blind Dutch singer named Ben Junior). The record could only be bought from one address on the island of Texel and story has it that of the 1,000 copies pressed, only 250 were sold. The rest of 45s were tossed in the annual April 30 bonfire on Texel, which made this one of the rarest Dutch beat 45s ever....
Sleeve is in EX condition. Some light general wear and creasing. No splits, tears, writing or other major damages. Vinyl is clean and glossy and in EX/EX+ condition. Labels are both clean.
DUTCH (NEDERLANDS)...
In 1965 verscheen er een singeltje van deze Texelse band dat werd uitgegeven door de Nederlandse Blindenbond in een persing van 1.000 exemplaren. Beide zeer sterk op de Beatles lijkende deuntjes werden op verzoek van diezelfde Bond ingezongen door de blinde zanger Ben Junior uit Amersfoort. De laatste was nog maar net een maand of twee actief bij de Typhoons toen er door ruzie een einde aan de samenwerking kwam. Dat maakte tegelijkertijd ook een abrupt einde aan de goede verstandhouding van de Typhoons met de Texelse vertegenwoordiging van de Blindenbond die het persen van het plaatje financieel mogelijk had gemaakt. Naar verluidt zijn er ongeveer 250 van verkocht en de rest is door een zeer teleurgestelde mevrouw Jansen van de lokale Blindenbond ( zo'n 750 stuks ) op 30 april in het jaarlijkse Paasvuur gekieperd, een daad die dit singeltje ongewild tot een waar collector's item bombardeerde.
