Description
For sale is a rare sealed 3 record box set with book of Giants of Jazz by Duke Ellington on the Time Life label. Fully sealed, I've seen pictures of the very nice book included with other open listings, great set. Also included are four other great sounding LP's by Duke Ellington and/or The Duke Ellington Orchestra. The nicest is Uptown Ellington, Columbia Jazz Masterpieces reissue #CJ-40836. Solid EX wax that plays like new, nice cover with just a little wear and two check marks on the back by song titles. Digital Duke is The Duke Ellington Orchestra with special guests, GRP-1038. The vinyl is clean and nice with a few light imperfections visually, but really plays a solid EX as well. The jacket is very nice from the front, the times of the tracks are written on the back by titles. Jazz Party is the original 6 eye mono press CL-1323. The vinyl is visually borderline VG to VG+ but really plays better, the only light noise I heard at all was early on track 2 side 2, nearly perfect sound otherwise. The bottom seam is split almost halfway across, the spine and top are very nice as is the front view. The back is solid with a small piece of the paper torn away upper left as shown. Ellington Indigos is Columbia CL-1085, a few scuffs and label wear but really plays quite nicely, some seam wear on the jacket.
