This Oslo-based quintet have here come up with an album that transcends modern 'psych' cliche with radiant charm and melodious suss alike. There may be nods to the '60s on 'Relax/Relapse' yet they're more redolent of the cockeyed song smithery of Syd Barrett and the head-spinning orchestration of prime Broadcast than anything more pat or predictable. Whilst this sweetly dizzying collection of ditties will appeal to fans of the likes of Tame Impala and The Flaming Lips, Drape here display an artistry and sleight-of-hand that seems destined to separate them very quickly from the pack.
