Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied.       52 years of age!

    This was the third release by the group, and arguably one of the *best* Canned Heat albums, one that went way up the sales charts surprising many, including the band, and putting them in TOP LEVEL public attention...

    • ... LIVING   THE   BLUES ... (1968), was centered around the thrilling energized, nearly three-quarter-hour long "Refried Boogie" jam that inhabits the second half of the effort. However, that did not stop it from scoring in the Top 20, which was a great achievement for a double LP. One obvious reason for its accomplishments is that the remainder of the title continues in the same solid vein as their previous LP, Boogie With Canned Heat (1968), issued merely a few months earlier.

    • The quintet of Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson (guitar/vocals), Larry "The Mole" Taylor (bass), Henry "Sunflower" Vestine (guitar), Aldolfo "Fido" Dela Parra (drums), and Bob "The Bear" Hite (vocals) return with the same aggressive blend of amplified rock with rhythm and blues. They also churn out some impressive self-penned tunes, as well as unique derivations of tunes, such as the rocked-up "Pony Blues." Immediately the inspired interplay between Wilson and Vestine proves as successful a combination here as it had on the band's prior outings. The organic and lighter "Goin' Up the Country" became the Heat's second major single, and is arguably best-remembered for its prominence in the film Woodstock (1970) and its subsequent triple-LP soundtrack.
    Expanding beyond their own formidable instrumental prowess, British blues guitarist John Mayall sits in for a short yet effective rendition of "Walking by Myself." Augmenting the combo on the original "Boogie Music" a Blind Owl delivered gem in the vein of Going Up The Country which is another rising groove. However, one that gets your immediate attention is the scorching heavy heavy ripper "One Kind Favor" [aka "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean"] given a harsh workout. The sidelong, nine-movement epic "Parthenogenesis" is an experimental suite that allows each band member copious room to move, including the showcase of wicked feedback fuzz guitar. Among the more interesting sections include the respective sonic of guitarist John Fahey, who backs up Wilson's Jew's harp twangfest on "Nebulosity," as well as the return of Mayall on "Bear Wires," the latter being a sly play on the title of Mayall's concurrent platter, Bare Wires (1968).

    The cover: rated: near "EX" excellent) really strong for this extreme wear-prone dark cover. Few and far between do you find the 1968 first print THIS clean!  Has light previous use and is in far better shape than most of original 1968 pressings still surviving. Would be quite hard to find a better gatefold cover without any shelf wear = here a highly collectible 50+ years old survivor! Has but light previous use. There are no split seams, no bends, no writing, no delete marks

    The vinyl: Rated: "EX" (excellent) to M- both records (all 4 sides) are clean, so hard to find the records to this album so clean like this...original shiny smooth luster on all 4 sides! All 4 Liberty labels are clean
