No, folks, this is not a bootleg (we NEVER sell illegitimate or unauthorized items) . What you are looking at is the OFFICIAL FM radio special, containing NO LESS THAN FIVE (5) records worth of PRIMO Doors / Jim Morrison performances mixed with group members’ banter, heavily leaning on classic Doors songs and Morrison’s spoken words and poetry recitals. The set includes a hour-by-hour programming/cue sheet and schedule of the commercials, listing of all program segments etc, etc.

This promotional-only radio special includes previously unreleased Jim Morrison material in the form of song, poetry, and interview segments, made especially for an FM radio station. Also included are twenty-nine songs by The Doors (Jim Morrison, Robbie Krieger, Ray Manzarek, and John Densmore). The records have white labels, with Jim Morrison photograph labels, black London Wavelength logos, and black print text. All ten labels are clean, with no writing on any side. This album was manufactured for the broadcast use of pre-cleared London Wavelength affiliates on the designated date and time scheduled by the network. This particular special was never aired in the market that it was obtained from, and the records have (probably) never been played. The reason why we believe the records have never been played is that the radio station apparently never signed and returned the consent form / license agreement supplied with the box set (it is still blank, complete, and included in the set) so , obviously, the radio station that received the material never had proper clearance and permission to air the show.

The records are banded so that commercials may be played in-between the segments. Four of the records comprise the three-hour special, and one record is commercial spots on one side, and drop-ins and promos on the other side. There are two different versions of the commercial disc. This is the "B" version of the special, with Coors and Coors Light Beer spots. "Three Hours For Magic" was released in the United States, in 1982.

The songs (all are by The Doors, unless noted) on the special "Three Hours For Magic" music and dialogue discs are: (Hour One Side One / Total Duration 30:26) "LA Woman" (7:49), "Break On Through" (2:25), "Moonlight Drive" (3:01), "Back Door Man" (3:30), (Hour One Side Two / Total Duration 27:10) "The Changeling" (4:20), "People Are Strange" (2:10), "Take It As It Comes" (2:10), "Alabama Song" (3:15), "The Crystal Ship" (2:30), "Riders On The Storm" (Excerpt) (2:24), (Hour Two Side Three / Total Duration 28:13) "Love Her Madly" (3:17), "Queen Of The Highway" (2:47), "Twentieth Century Fox" (2:30), "Touch Me" (3:15), "Strange Days" (3:05), "Soul Kitchen" (3:30), "Love Me Two Times" (Time Omitted), Jim Morrison "Orange County Suite" (1:45), "Wild Child" (2:36), (Hour Two Side Four / Total Duration 28:42) "Roadhouse Blues" (4:38), Jim Morrison "The Movies" (:43), Jim Morrison "An American Prayer" (3:53), "When The Music's Over" (9:25), (Hour Three Side Five / Total Duration 28:12) "Five To One" (4:22), "The Unknown Soldier" (3:10), "My Eyes Have Seen You" (3:01), "Horse Latitudes" (Excerpt) (2:25), "End Of The Night" (2:49), (Hour Three Side Six / Total Duration 30:58) Jim Morrison "Dawn's Highway" (2:58), Jim Morrison "Peace Frog" (Time Omitted), "Shamen's Blues" (2:03), "Waiting For The Sun" (3:58), "Hello, I Love You" (2:23), and "The End" (11:35).

In-between the songs is dialogue of host Scott Muni interviewing Jim Morrison and others, including Robbie Krieger, Ray Manzarek, and John Densmore. The record was produced by Jon Sargent. There is a seven-sheet program and script, with eleven printed pages, consisting of the following: (page one) "Important Note" about the commercial spots, (page two) blank, (page three) "Commercial Disc" (side one of the commercial record) lists what is on the nineteen bands, (page four) "Promo/Drop-In Reel" (side two of the commercial record) lists what is on the ten bands (eight promos feature Jim Morrison), including Jim Morrison poetry, (page five) the title and black-and-white photograph of Jim Morrison at the microphone (identical to the cover), (page six) blank, (pages seven through thirteen) and the complete program and script, with cues, listings, and times.

On top of this, the package includes an additional 4-sheet (5 pages) London Wavelength package which includes recollections from Frank Lisciandro (pages 1-2), The Jim Morrison Special description (page 3), Excerpt from the National Programming section of the June 26, 1982 edition of Billboard (page 4) and blank , unsigned Jim Morrison special license agreement (page 5)

With these interview and music records, commercials, program, and script, you can host your own personal radio show with Jim Morrison and The Doors.

This is the nicest copy of this incredible special that you may ever find. "Three Hours For Magic" is one of the finest Doors Radio Specials ever made, and integral part of legitimate Doors’ discography.

·                               CONDITION:

·                               RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)            WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG NEAR MINT. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)             The album comes with ALL original extras and inserts described above

(d)            Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER ( ¾ -INCH THICK BOX)

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover has a 'bump' (dent) along the spine. The dent was delicately taped by the previous owner with a piece of 2-inch wide clear scotch tape

-         Cover has some light ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 3.

-         Back of the box has circular tarnish (grayish, dust-covered sections, which closely follow the contour of the record), probably caused by friction or by rubbing against other covers during the storage. The tarnish is similar in appearance to a common ring wear, but, UNLIKE ring wear, these grayish areas may be possible to clean up with a minor effort and with a right cleansing solution.

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-         No split seams

-         No cut-out (drill) holes.

-         No cut-out corners

-         No saw-marks or indents

-         No wrinkles or creases

-         No yellowing from aging

-         No writing

-         No stamps

-         No peel-off marks

-         No stains

-         No mold or mildew spots

-         No stickers or labels

-         No water damage

-         No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or cuts.

-         No warping

-         No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-         No bar codes

-         No RIAA stamps or stickers.
