I have been commissioned to sell a large collection of records that once belonged radio DJ Bob Senn in Santa Barbara, CA (more about him below) and the collection belongs to DodgerBob. WOW!! For sale is an absolutely gorgeous, nearly pristine and almost certainly unplayed white label promo copy of DOOBIE BROTHERS - TOULOUSE STREET! The sleeve is in spectacular condition and the audio is guaranteed to be top notch with no groove wear and clear, crisp sound! The original owner (more about him below) took extremely good care of these records and only played them on high quality equipment. Many have never been opened. Many have never been played, and most that were played have only been played lightly. They have been in careful, climate controlled storage for 30+ years. More detailed description to follow below.

A play test may be requested, but based on my experience with others in this incredible collection of similar appearance, I have been blown away by the high fidelity of these records and many satisfied customers have said the same.

Sleeve: VG+ to EX

BEAUTIFUL crisp sleeve...sharp opening edges, nice corners and no major creases or bends. No real wear. As with most records in this collection, “From The Collection of Bob Senn” has been stamped on rear. No other writing. Small little “flake” spot on rear (see pic)

Disc: EX+ to NM-

GORGEOUS disc retains all of it’s original glossy sheen...only the faintest wispy sleeve removal traces, faint factory “streaks”** and a few harmless “bag spots” appear/disappear when tilted under bright light. Disc appears unplayed, or if at all, played and handled very little. Labels have NO spindle traces or evidence of play. As with many of the records in this collection, there is a very good chance it is truly unplayed and guaranteed to have NO GROOVE WEAR, providing crisp, clear, STUNNING audio! TOP COPY

**The “Factory streaks” I’m referring to I have found on many pressings, especially older 1960s/‘70s promo copies. From my research, these are artifacts of the pressing process and only show up tilted under strong light. They seem to have been caused by a release of lubrication liquid of some sort to aid the pressing process, especially early among the first copies pressed such as promos. They are NOT abrasions, scuffs or residue on or in the grooves...they are part of the vinyl itself and do NOT cause any audio interference whatsoever. I’ve play tested many, many copies with these “streaks” and have found no surface noise (quite the opposite- these promo copies were almost always pressed on extremely quiet, virgin vinyl). They may raise an eyebrow if you’re examining under bright halogen and seeing them for the first time, but once you play the record, you will find these pristine promos to be of the highest audiophile quality. This is the reason I often put a minus to the NM visual grade when in reality, they are truly strong NM audio.

Labels: NM-

Labels are perfect with no unwanted writing. No spindle traces or evidence of play. Very minor black smudge on side two label from contact with inner sleeve.

Inner: NM

Inner sleeve is unsplit, untorn and only has light disc impressions with no major creases. No unwanted writing.

When Mr. Senn passed, his collection was acquired by my friend who has commissioned me to help sell them. There are thousands of records in the collection, almost all promotional copies in mint or close to mint condition.

Shipping: I am a vinyl collector myself so I completely understand the importance of good packaging and will ship this VERY carefully and securely. The disc will be put into a generic inner sleeve, placed behind the jacket in a plastic outer sleeve and sandwiched snugly between two thick cardboard stiffeners and shipped in an LP mailer with protected corners.

Grading System:

SS (Still Sealed)

Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.)

M (Mint)

The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. (I will only use this grade on SEALED records that appear to be Mint as I believe any non-new, opened record cannot be truly called MINT.

NM (Near Mint)

A nearly perfect record. Any visible defects are of the type that "disappear" when the record is tilted under a strong light and they should not affect play. Sleeves in near mint condition will have no obvious signs of wear. Practically imperceptible ring wear may be allowed but no creases, seam-splits, or other easily detected flaws will be present.

EX (Excellent)

A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial signs of wear. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.

VG+ (Very Good Plus)

A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split.

VG (Very Good)

A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.

G (Good)

A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.

FA (Fair) and P (Poor)

These grades are for beat-up records. I will only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
