"DON'T GO NEAR THE WATER" (1957) Title Song by BRONISLAU KAPER & SAMMY CAHN   1957 MGM comedy starred Glenn Ford and Gia Scala. The title song was composed by BRONISLAU KAPER and SAMMY CAHN and was sung over the credits in the motion picture by CORAL recording artists, THE LANCERS.Their version was also released on CORAL as a single. Unfortunately it failed to break their record of an unbroken string of non-hit releases, though their smooth sound usually garnered some airplay with each new release.  (They backed other vocalists on CORAL from time to time, and may have, by connection, be seen as having a hit or two that way.)   Following this release, there would be one more CORAL single and then they seem to have vanished.    For a LANCERS fan it may be worth noting that on a web listing of CORAL singles, DON'T GO NEAR THE WATER is listed as having a flip side titled STROLL.  But on this single (9- 61899) the other side is titled A HUNDRED HEARTBEATS (A Minute).   There are some lite surface marks that do not interfere with playing or listening, and a sticker on the labels.
