Description
Up for bid is a rare LP, "Byrd's Word," featuring Donald Byrd, Frank Foster, Hank Jones, Paul Chambers, and Kenny Clarke. See pictures for song list and other info. This is an original US press, released by Savoy Records (MG-12032) in 1956. Interior labels are maroon with silver lettering and a deep groove on either side. Interior matrix info is as follows: Side 1 - stamped MG 12032 A X20, with a "G" stamped to the left of matrix number and a "1" stamped to the right of matrix number. "RVG" etched in matrix area. Side 2 - stamped MG 12032 B X20, with an "E" stamped to the left of matrix number and a "1" stamped to the right of matrix number. "RVG" etched in matrix area. LP is VG, with scuffs and light scratches on either side. LP retains a nice gloss. Interior labels are very clean. LP plays with some light surface noise (crackle, tics, and light pops), with no skips. Listen to excerpts from each song from this actual LP for reference:
Jacket is VG+, with one small seam split on the front top left corner. This is a heavy cardboard jacket with a glossy laminated front cover. There is a small portion of laminated cover in the front top left corner that folds over due to the small split in that particular corner (see pictures - there are 2 different ones that show this corner). There is wear on all corners. There is ring wear on the front of the jacket. There is some discoloration on the back and a small ink stamp in the back bottom right corner (see pictures). Don't miss this rare gem! We will pack this securely for safe delivery - this will be a little heavy due to the inserts we put in the LP mailer. LP will be removed from the jacket prior to being packed in mailer. Domestic delivery will be via USPS media mail including a tracking number. International delivery is First Class International.
