A truly excellent condition copy of this very rare 1968 UK 1st press jazz gem with sparingly played vinyl and superb  audio quality throughout

1968 DON RENDELL / IAN CARR gem on cherished UK 1st press Columbia black/blue/silver record label :  excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - some would grade as "near mint" I am sure - thick, weighty and completely flat and in normal daylight comes across as unmarked, giving off a gorgeous lustre and retaining it's original jet black sheen. Even with close inspection under a bright light the only mark I can detect is a very thin, extremely faint, and purely superficial 2cm scuff line on side 1. Beautiful, and clearly this record has been played only a handful of times.   Excellent plus (EX+) condition 1st press labels, with the "K" & "T" tax codes clearly visible on the side 1 label, and the only marks being just x3 very small and extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label.  Very good plus (VG+) condition non-laminated Garrod & Lofthouse cardboard outer sleeve with firm edges and no creasing though there is mild scuffing along almost the entirety of the top and bottom edges, a little ring wear on the front side accompanied by some light fading towards the bottom edge (see photos), and just a few small and very, very light storage/handling marks on the reverse side. The spine remains firm with all text 99% intact though there are a couple of light "nicks" and just a little light scuffing at each end, the corners remain nicely defined right angles with mild rubbing on each, the opening edges remain firm with no fraying, and the reverse side is a solid VG+ with each flipback in great shape and just a few very light handling marks and the hint of some very mild age dicolouration in a couple of areas - do look at the photos. Not quite perfect but still eminently presentable and fully functional.  Excellent plus (EX+) STEREO audio quality - stunning in fact, with no skips, sticks, jumps, repeats, clicks, interference or distortion,  no background crackle at all and simply great tone with crystal clear audio quality throughout - brilliant! DON RENDELL (tenor sax, flue), Ian Carr (trumpet & flugelhorn), Dave Green (bass), Michael Garrick (piano), and Trevor Tomkin (drums) at the very top of their game. Stunning, and no wonder this 1st press LP is so sought after!  
Comes complete with original EMI advertising inner sleeve with no splits or obvious creases, just the hints of some very, very mild age discolouration and two 1cm vertical tears on the reverse side top edge (I do of course insert the record into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve for postal purposes and to protect the original).
 Rare and difficult to find, especially in condition as truly impressive as this, and a serious addition to any jazz vinyl collection.   POSTAGE COSTS :

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
