Description

An original factory sealed copy of the 1980 Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton LP Porter & Dolly (RCA AHL1-3700) along with a picture sleeve copy of Dolly’s massive 1971 hit 45 “Coat Of Many Colors”/”Here I Am” (RCA Victor 74-0538) and the following fifteen Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton 45’s (all on RCA Victor unless otherwise noted): “Love Is Worth Living”/”The Last Thing On My Mind” (47-9369), “Just Between You And Me”/”Holding On To Nothin’” (47-9490), “Jeannie’s Afraid Of The Dark”/”We’ll Get Ahead Someday” (47-9577), “Yours Love”/”Malena” (74-0104), “Just Someone I Used To Know”/”My Hands Are Tied” (74-0247), “Burning The Midnight Oil”/”More Than Words Can Tell” (74-0565), “Together Always”/”Love’s All Over” (74-0773), “We Found It”/”Love Have Mercy On Us” (74-0893), “Two Of A Kind”/”Better Move It On Home” (47-9958), “The Pain Of Loving You”/”The Right Combination” (47-9994), a picture sleeve pressing of “Here Comes The Freedom Train”/”All Aboard America” (Porter only) (Freedom Train 6057), a promo copy of “Please Don’t Stop Loving Me”/”Sounds Of Nature” (PB-10010), a mono promo copy of “Say Forever You’ll Be Mine”/”How Can I (Help You Forgive Me)” (JA-10328), “Making Plans”/”Beneath The Sweet Magnolia Tree” (PB-11983), and “If You Go, I’ll Follow You”/”Hide Me Away” (PB-12119). All records are unplayed stock from the personal collection of Porter Wagoner. As a bonus, we are also offering a letter signed by Dolly that was to have gone with a copy of the 1992 book The Country Music World Of Charlie Lamb that she signed. All 45’s are housed in their original stock RCA company sleeves (save for “Two Of A Kind) and – reportedly being unplayed – are excellent (a few occasional scuffs from being slid in and out of their sleeves plus a few touches of aging in some of the older discs) to near mint, as are their labels. The picture sleeve for “Coat Of Many Colors” is very good plus due to a record impression, some ring wear, some minor creasing and rippling, and an inch-long seam split in the center of the bottom. The “Freedom Train” picture sleeve is excellent with a faint record impression and touches of rippling, creasing, and discoloration. The Porter & Dolly LP – being factory sealed – appears to be near mint, save for a cut-out saw mark in the bottom left corner. The signed letter is very fine with just the faintest trace of dimpling and creasing.
