Description

Up for auction is a copy of Born To Be With You, the legendary 1975 LP by Dion, produced by Phil Spector. This copy is a double sided acetate of what I assume is the complete LP: I can’t hear any differences between this version and the finished LP, but that’s not to say there aren’t any. Either way, this was cut at IBC studio for Polydor Records prior to release (the album was eventually issued on Phil Spector International), and is probably unique.

 

Condition: some scuffing on each side, but everything plays through with occasional clicks & pops, but no jumps or sticks. VG. No cover.

 

(A word of warning regarding acetates: there are a few unscrupulous dealers on ebay selling recently cut acetates by 60s/70s artists claiming them as the real thing. The acetate I’m selling here was purchased many years ago from a highly respected r’n’r/50s rarities specialist. I have no doubts as to its authenticity.)

 

My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item in pictured here is the item for sale. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence!
