Housed in front laminated 'Ernest J. Day & Co.Ltd., London, W.11' printed cover

Complete with its original die-cut CBS advertising inner sleeve

1968 UK 1st issue 'mono' issue of this incredibly hard to find CBS Orange label 'Thick Vinyl' beauty by the one time Quiksilver Messenger Service singer.

Rare original UK CBS mono 1st pressing of the obscure but absolutely wonderful 1968 solo release from one of the most fascinating enigmas of the San Francisco Psychedelic scene. Dino Valente is most famed as the author of the song 'Get Together' and as an original member of Quicksilver Messenger Service.

This eponymous solo release from Dino Valente of Quicksilver Messenger Service fame is somewhat of a buried treasure. The album typifies the hippie-folk-troubadour syndrome with strumming, reverb-laden 12-string guitar and romantic odes of passion and heartbreak. Valente's pliant, unique sounding vocals practically floats alone on these ten strange songs. They are intensely powerful and personal songs, beautiful observations about people, relationships, and subversive ideas. Among the stand out tracks are; "Everything's Gonna Be Ok", "Time" (with its soaring chorus), the vulnerable ballad  "Listen To Me", the anthemic epic "Children of the Sun", "Me and My Uncle". The wordless experimental final song is a total psychedelic freakout called "Test" this one has a bizarre Skip Spence ring to it, it features flute, guitar and a really way out vocal, it's a great way to end the album, it just leaves you hanging there!

While the music on this album is acid folkish in nature, Valente's vocals display an offbeat, almost jazzy inflection reminiscent of the late Tim Buckley and Van Morrison's 'Astral Weeks' lp. There are numerous moments on this record of genuine beauty and coolness!

Dino Valente was a one-of-a-kind, you've never heard anyone like him!

This truly magnificent album is a 'must have' and quite essential for all 60's acid-folk/psych aficionados.
