Description
Dig It! is another classic fan club release by the fab four on the Nems Records Limited label. This one was originally released in 1987 and includes (as it says on the cover) “18 Unreleased Tracks”. With nice cover art, it includes a tracks from a variety of sources and times in the Beatles career. The liner notes on the back cover (obviously addressing fan club members) by compiler Pioquinto Marcos, are, in themselves, a fun remembrance of the time when the world was infected with “Beatlemania”. As the notes end: “And that about wraps up this particular NEMS presentation. Can you dig it?” The title and that signoff both refer to the last song on side two, an 8-minute plus version of the song “Dig It”, originally released on the Let It Be album in a version that was under 1 minute.
NEMS Enterprises was Brian Epstein's management company, the initials deriving from the Epstein family's 'North End Music Stores' in Liverpool. Its record label was a relatively late development, and it came after Epstein's death in 1967: the first mention of it was in 'Record Retailer' of the 31st of January 1968.
THIS COPY is a 1st pressing from 1987 on the NEMS label (see Notes, below).
The vinyl shows some light rubbing from the inner sleeve, but per a test listen, is in Very Good Plus [VG+] condition.
The original cover shows some light ring wear and handling. Overall, it is still in Very Good Plus [VG+] condition.
The original inner sleeve has some wrinkles, but with no splits, it is in Very Good [VG] condition. Note that it does have "Beatles Dig It" written in ink on one side near the disc opening.
