NEW YORK CITY's finest. Legendary hard rock act following on in the footsteps of the Blue Oyster Cult, the Good Rats and, to a lesser degree, the Ramones. The Dictators always had a more comedic and pop sensibility than other acts of the same vintage, helping to fuse their sing-a-long Cheap Trickish hooks with an underbelly of raunch and roll.

Not surprisingly BOC mentors Murray Krugman and Sandy Pearlman produced this album hence the musical similarities. Some great guitar here from Ross The Boss (later of Manowar) especially on the tracks 'Disease', 'Steppin Out', 'Science Gone Too Far', 'Young, Fast, Scientific' and the classic encore enducing 'Search And Destroy', originally written and recorded by the Stooges. Finally, let us not forget the brilliant vocal delivery of front man 'Handsome' Dick Manitoba - his whispy lilt captured impeccably.

Great album.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Cover: Again, no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is perfectly straight, stiff and uncrushed. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 35 years after release. Shop fresh. Grades as MINT-!
