"Love Hangover" is a song by the Tamla Motown singer Diana Ross, recorded in 1975 and released as a 7" single on March 16, 1976. It rose to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot-selling Soul Singles Chart. It also hit number one on the Record World disco charts.
The song has been remixed several times over the years and covered, but none can match the original long version mix here now on 12" single.
In 1976 this version was only available as an LP album track as the 12"inch single format started to be used in the November of 1976 by Salsoul Records.
Unfortunately the micro groove LP format cannot give the clarity and dynamic deep bass of the12" inch single format. FACT
The story goes that at the time of recording this classic, producer Hal Davis instructed the song's engineer Russ Terrana to install a strobe light so that Diana could be in the "Disco" mindset.
As the song changed from a ballad to uptempo beats, Diana became more comfortable with the material; she hummed, sang bit parts, laughed, danced around the booth and even imitated Billie Holliday.
Today you can purchase this piece of dance history, which sounds as good today in the 21st century as it did in 1976.
