Description

DIAL 12 mono LP Stravinsky Mavra (opera buffa). New York Wind Ensemble conducted by Robert Craft, with soloists Phyllis Curtin, Robert Harmon, Sandra Warren, and Arline Carmin. Fourth Dial 12" classical record, issued in early 1950s. (This is the same DIAL label that issued iconic 10" jazz LPs.) Vinyl 8/10, light surface scratches and scuffs, few very light spindle marks. Auditioned, plays well, with moderate surface noise that is mostly masked by the music. Jacket 7.5/10 with 2" split seam, lower; 1-1/2"" diagonal crease, upper left corner; 1" diagonal light crease, lower left corner; wear and some discoloration, front and rear (see image); label on rear.  Plastic inner sleeve. Jacket design by David Stone Martin, with small printed signature. Liner notes include libretto. Surprisingly nice condition for a record of this rarity and age.
