Description
Very scarce in this earliest pressing and lovely condition, this is a flawless copy of German DGG SLPM 138022. The disc is a thick pancake "Alle Hersteller," and the floppy cover, dated 7/1959, has "STEREO" in thin letters. An incredibly young Lorin Maazel conduct the Berlin Philharmonic in the Brahms Third Symphony and the "Tragic" overture.
This record was auditioned with a Goldring 1042 cartridge, Music Hall TT, Densen amplification and Epos speakers. The thick disc looks glossy and superb, and plays quietly and perfectly: NM. The cover looks crisp, bright and near-new, also NM.
This is a true collector's copy of this indispensable stereo DGG--you are unlikely to find better.
