Der kanadische Starpianist Jan Lisiecki präsentiert seinen gefeierten Zyklus der fünf Klavierkonzerte von Ludwig van Beethoven erstmals auf Vinyl in einer hochwertigen 5 LP Vinyl Box mit fünf 180g LPs.
Die fünf Konzerte seien kein Zyklus im engeren Sinn, sagt Jan Lisiecki: »Beethoven hat diese Werke sicher nicht zusammenhängend konzipiert.
Dennoch gehören sie zusammen, denn sie zeigen ein unglaublich differenziertes Bild von Beethoven, angefangen mit den beiden ersten Konzerten, die noch das Erbe Mozarts verraten, über die so unterschiedlichen Werke Nummer drei und vier bis hin zum majestätischen Es-Dur-Konzert.«
Den Pianisten fasziniert diese Vielfalt, »weil hier alle wichtigen, teils gegensätzlichen Facetten Beethovens zusammenkommen«. Lisiecki ist in diesen Einspielungen nicht nur als Solist zu erleben, sondern leitet die berühmte Academy of St Martin in the Fields vom Klavier aus. Die Veröffentlichung dieser Vinyl Box wird begleitet von einer großen Deutschland Tour im Januar 2025 mit Terminen u.a. in München, Hamburg, Köln, Frankfurt, Dresden und Berlin.

Canadian star pianist Jan Lisiecki presents his acclaimed cycle of Beethoven’s five piano concertos for the first time on vinyl as a high-quality 5-LP box set with five 180g LPs.
Lisiecki believes the composer did not conceive the piano concertos as a cycle. “In spite of this,” he adds, “they belong together because they reveal such a differentiated picture of Beethoven, starting with the first two, which still honour Mozart’s legacy. Then follow Nos. 3 and 4, both so inherently different in character, and the majestic ‘Emperor’ Concerto forms the finale.” It is this wide-ranging variety that Lisiecki finds fascinating, as it “reveals all the significant and oftentimes contradictory aspects of Beethoven’s music”. Playing the dual role of soloist and conductor, Jan Lisiecki is accompanied by the world-acclaimed Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
The release of this vinyl box set will be accompanied by a major tour of Germany in January 2025 with dates in Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, Dresden and Berlin, among others.
