Description
For auction is DEXTER GORDON's "Daddy Plays the Horn", on Bethlehem BCP-36, MONO, 1955.
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. There was some random background noise audible here and there, maybe a click here and there barely audible. That is all! Overall, this 63-year-old record sounds fantastic!
Visually, the vinyl is VG+ or better, with no flaws to report. The record is deep-grooved both sides. Red label with silver letters. Matrix #'s and other info inscribed in dead wax are all correct. The labels have "DJ Sample Copy" stamped upon.
The sleeve is VG+ or better with no flaws of note other than a 1-inch split top right spine, and a little fraying bottom right edge. Owner's name in pen on reverse, as well as two "sample" stamps.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics. A rare record, in great condition. No reserve, bidding starts at $150.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction.
