legendary live performance is finally available in its full
chaotic glory on a stunning 2 x LP set.
The live release hardcore Devo fans have been waiting
for, Nitrous Nightmare captures the band harnessing
their artistic vision in its purest form. This mythic
performance documents Devo perfecting some of their
most iconic concepts in the raw.
Expertly restored from recordings preserved in the
band's personal vaults, this electrifying release captures
Devo at the very beginning of their revolutionary
journey.

THE STORY
On Halloween 1975, Devo took to the stage at the WHK
Auditorium in Cleveland, supporting jazz legend Sun Ra.
The audience, fuelled by nitrous oxide, alcohol and
Halloween excess, expected a conventional rock covers
band. Instead they were confronted with an
uncompromising act of performance art that would
eventually send the increasingly hostile crowd into
meltdown.
Despite heckling, threats and confusion from the
audience, Devo continued their set, creating one of the
most legendary performances in underground music
history.
The recording is believed to feature the first ever live
performance of "Jocko Homo", including the full 12-
minute version presented here.
What seemed confrontational and bewildering in 1975
now stands as a historic document of a band whose
ideas would reshape alternative music and culture for
decades.
