Depeche Mode : Violator A1 / B1 1st 'PR' Press 1990
This first pressing plays to a very high standard for the vast majority.  There is just one static click on the first track and some static here and there but this is mainly on the two instrumental sections on S2 which are kind of separate pieces in their own right although not listed as such of course.  Aside from that the clarity and depth of the audio is very impressive.
The cover remains in very good condition and any wear it has is mainly restricted to the edges and some ringwear on the back.  The lyric inner is in superb condition!

The audio on S1 is Mint(-) (T1 intro Ex / T3 Near Mint- / T4 & T5 Near Mint)
The audio on S2 ranges mainly between Ex+ & Mint(-) (T1 & T2 intros Ex / the two instrumental passages VG- & Ex+)   The cover is VG+
The lyric inner is Near Mint
The labels are Mint / Near Mint
Visual description
The vinyl is in between very good and excellent condition because there are no actual scratches.  There are some hairlines and a little mottling but this is largely superficial as it has very little if any affect on the audio.  There are 3 or 4 hairlines on S2 that are a little more obvious and one very faint blemish but again this is superficial and can only be seen when you hold the vinyl at a certain angle under a bright light.  There is no groove or surface wear and the run out grooves are very clean.  The labels are in perfect condition with no marking or spindle wear.
Play grading
The only intrusion on 'World In My Eyes' is one static click on the intro.  Otherwise the clarity and depth of the audio is of the highest standard possible - there is no other background and even the long fade out plays perfectly.  I will grade the intro as Ex but the rest is Mint for sure.
The percussive intro on 'Sweetest Perfection' builds quietly and yet it plays with perfect clarity and Gore's opening vocal section is just as impressive.  From then on it plays with impeccable clarity and I only noticed a couple of barely audible statics.  Mint-
The intro on 'Personal Jesus' has only minimal light static and the opening vocal has next to no static.  It proceeds in much the same with no clicks or pops.  I did hear some very quiet ticks during one of the vocal sections towards the end but seriously they are so quiet and totally non-intrusive.  Near Mint- overall.
'Halo' plays with very clean audio through every section.  The intro has only minimal light static in a couple of places and the first vocal is as close to perfect as is possible.  The following chorus is indeed perfect and it continues to play with very strong, clear audio.  There is no intrusion for the remainder and again I think Near Mint is a fair assessment of the audio.
'Waiting For The Night' is of course a quiet track and yet the clarity is very impressive.  The long intro has hardly any static and the same goes for the opening vocal.  There are no ticks, clicks or pops and only the odd light static sound but not many I hasten to add!  The first half is a great listen and the second half even better!  There is no background and the closing section is flawless.  Again Near Mint overall.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The intro on the classic 'Enjoy The Silence' plays clearly but with a few quiet static sounds and the first part of the opening vocal is the same.  It's quiet so not that obvious really.  From then on it plays with STUNNING clarity and definition with only some static on the fade out.  The opening section is Ex and the rest Near Mint- I think that is fair.  The instrumental passage that follows does have some static and crackle and can only grade as VG-
The intro on 'The Policy Of Truth' has very little static and Gahan's opening vocal section then has no background at all.  The next vocal has only 2/3 light static sounds and from then onwards it plays with genuine quality.  I only noticed a couple of minor statics and a little static on the fade out.  Ex for the intro and Near Mint- for the remainder.   'Blue Dress' plays to a very high standard with no intrusion.  The playback is so clean and precise and there are no ticks, clicks or pops getting in the way.  A stunning Mint- version with only a couple of mega light statics on the intro.  There is another instrumental 'passage' as this track finishes and it plays extremely well with only minimal background.  Ex+
The intro on 'Clean' has only minimal light static and the opening vocal is faultless.  It continues to impress on so many levels.  The clarity is stunning and for a final track track the sonic quality is just as good.  I'll say Near Mint but that might be undervaluing it!
The Cover & Lyric Inner
At first glance the cover looks to be in excellent condition but on closer inspection you can see there is a little rubbing on the edges, albeit not an excessive amount, and a little ringwear on the back.  The spine is in excellent order and the opening edge has only minimal handling wear.  The front cover is very clean with only one faint 'score' line and a little wear on the bottom right corner.  The back cover also has a couple of minor specks and a small 'rub' by the top edge.
The lyric inner is in superb condition with no obvious wear.  Just one minor rub on the bottom edge that about sums it up.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
