Never in pic sleeve...comes in its original EMI Australia company sleeve.
OK...the story with this pressing goes like this: Mute had had a several year licensing deal with Aussie independent label Powderworks (distributed by RCA here)...right up until and including the release of "Master And Servant" on 7", which was released by them here on October '84 (catalogue #: POW-0229). In December 1984, Mute renegotiated their deal in Australia, and signed with EMI, who ultimately decided to place them with another small Aussie independent label, Possum Music, who they (EMI) had distribution for. But inbetween the EMI signing and their placement of Mute with Possum, EMI decided to rush out Depeche Mode's new single, and chose to do so on their own in-house EMI brand.
Hence this release.
And POW-0229 was discontinued...they'd had a good couple of months of sales and it was fizzling by the time EMI finally got their pressing out. Also, POW-0229 had a picture sleeve and thisEMI one did not. Subsequently, very few of the EMI pressing sold, and it is NOT easy to find.

CONDITION:
(I use the following gradings: MINT, M-, EX (EX = most people's NM), EX-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G++, G+, G.)
PIC COVER: ( - ) ...n/a...
VINYL: ( VG+[+] ) ...shiny...with a some light, very fine 'hairline' marks only...
LABEL CONDITION: 'A' side: VG++ ...has some water-staining/damage (see pix)... 'B' side: EX ......
