TITLE : PACIFIC OCEAN BLUE ...

This is an incredibly rare and much sought-after solo album by The Beach Boys drummer/song writer ! ...Although the album doesn't actually feature The Beach Boys as a group whole ! ...Dennis Wilson was The Beach Boys Drummer and he was the younger brother of Beach Boy Brian Wilson ! ...The pressing run of this album was very small indeed, miniscule, and it never entered the album charts in the U.K. ! ...As such the U.K. issue is certainly much rarer than the U.S. equivalent, which reached 96th place in the U.S. chart ! ...(The album also includes it's rare lyric insert, which is sometimes missing from the album !!) ...This is Dennis Wilson's only official and now legendary solo released LP ! ...He was the 1st Beach Boy involved in a solo undertaking and the album was released in August, 1977 ! ...The album has strong, sometimes delicate, emotional depth to it with soulful and sometimes 'grainyish' vocals ! ...(Dennis Wilson, very unfortunately, died in December, 1983 aged 39 years ; I think he drowned and he's obviously greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues as well as true music lovers the world over ! R.I.P. Dennis !) ...This, being his one and only solo album, is therefore a very important part of his legacy ! (as well, of course, as his role in The Beach Boys !)... As far as I'm aware the album has not been remastered, re-released or reissued, so it stands alone as a testament to his U.S. West Coast pop-rock genre and his genius ! ...It's truly a "Classic" 1977 solo effort on his part and is a fragile masterpiece ! ...At the time Dennis was then beginning to, or was, showing signs of his substance abuse ! ...The album however, features great songs and production by Dennis, (who co-produced the album !)... The album in fact probably reflects the best Beach Boys solo project ! ...It's not just me saying this - it has been acclaimed as the best solo Beach Boys project and resultant album ! ...Very few copies were sold in the U.K., very poor sales and hence it's a very rare album indeed ! ...This particular copy, i.e. from my personal record collection, has been archived since it's purchase by me, shortly after it's release in the U.K., (probably sometime in the year of it's release in 1977 as I was an avid record collector around that time ! ...and also now ! - nothing changes does it !)... I bought it new, played it a few times on a few occasions around that time, then stored it in a plastic protective sleeve as part of my collection ! ...It's just come to hand again, hence this listing, but having just played it again it's as fresh and superb today as it was then, a great album with 'timeless' music ! ...The recording quality is superb and it's well produced, sublime and mellow sounding ! ...It features great L.A. backing musicians, including and helped by Hal Blaine on drums with Bruce Johnston providing background vocals ! ...Keeping in mind that 'laid-back' West Coast Beach Boys type music was not in fashion at the time as 'new wave punk' had just come onto the music scene ! ...Therefore, until recent years this has been a previously overlooked 'gem' of an album ! ...The only one he recorded, and without the Beach Boys ! ...However, this is the rarest Beach Boys related LP and copies of this album hardly ever turn up nowadays ! ...The winning bidder will certainly not be disappointed with the music, calibre and condition of the album ! ...This is a U.K. 1st pressing and it's an impossibly rare album to find these days ; especially in great condition as this one is ! ...Basically it's the rarest of U.K. pressing Beach Boys related LPs' !! The Gatefold Sleeve is in EX+ condition (no creases, no tears, no marks, no writting, no stickers, very little or hardly any 'age' or 'scuff' type wear to the corners, a near perfect spine, absolutely no wear to the very top corner or very bottom corner of the spine and no indents... just a straight edged square lined spine with perfectly legible and readable album details along the spine, i.e. CARIBOU / DENNIS WILSON * PACIFIC OCEAN BLUE / & CRB 81672 ...straight unblemished and undented edged where the record inserts and is taken out of the gatefold sleeve ! ...The inside of the gatefold is in perfect condition... Essentially, there are certainly no bad flaws or damage and this is an overall superb condition gatefold sleeve, both the outside and the inside of it !! ... 

The Vinyl is in EX+ condition... with just a couple of the very lightest, tiniest and wispiest 'hairlines' from being taken out of the inner sleeve ; certainly very, very small and insignificant and hard to see even when viewed under a bright 100watt lightbulb ! ...looks virtually or nearly perfect ! (there are no bad or serious listening problems - it plays with clarity, clearly and as it should for it's graded condition ; overall enjoyable listening pleasure !) ...

... In conclusion then, it must certainly grade as being in overall EX+ condition (or, depending how you grade, possibly in reasonably NEAR MINT condition !) depending how it's graded ! ...In any event a 'superb' example of this very rare album !!! ...
