Pacific Ocean Blue is Dennis Wilson's only solo album and it received glowing reviews for its depth and emotion
After several attempts, starting in 1970, to release his own project, some of which made it to the finished album, Wilson recorded the bulk of Pacific Ocean Blue in the months spanning autumn 1976 to the following spring.

It was notable that Dennis' hard living had begun affecting his looks and more importantly his singing voice, which now delivered grainy and rough, yet still deeply soulful, vocals.
Despite Wilson's pledge to record an even superior follow-up, entitled Bambu, his continuing decline into substance abuse and personal problems ensured that the album remained unfinished at the time of Wilson's drowning death in December 1983

Thus, this album, alongside his pioneering work with the Beach Boys, remains a focal point of Dennis Wilson's legacy, even being referred to as a "lost classic."
The album has appeared on several "Best-of" lists including Robert Dimery's "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die," Mojo's "Lost Albums You Must Own"and "70 of the Greatest Albums of the 70s" lists. In 2005, it was ranked #18 in GQ's "The 100 Coolest Albums in the World Right Now!"

LABELS: The labels are clean, bright, fresh and unmarked with no spindle traces or signs of use and the spindle hole is still quite tight indicating that this copy is either completely unplayed or has received a couple of careful plays only
VINYL Visual: Both surfaces retain their original deep, glossy sheen with a beautiful lustre. The surfaces are practically unmarked with just some light hairlines and a couple of spots on the final track "End Of The Show" - but these have no audio consequence - the record sounds superb
VINYL Audio: Outstanding audio delivery in all respects with a crystal clear, sharp and fresh sound and on playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing) there are no scratches, no sticks or jumps, no loud clicks or pops and barely any surface noise - just a slight touch of crackle on the beginning of side two for the first few seconds and some touches of background surface between some (not all) of the tracks - this was never the cleanest pressing as mentioned above but this is certainly just about the cleanest I have heard. This is a great copy and the whole LP plays to a very high standard with superb clarity, no groove-wear and no distortion (it's possibly never been played) and is strictly graded EXCELLENT+ for audio (but in all honesty I don't think you will find a copy which sounds better than this) - fantastic LP - very, very highly recommended
SLEEVE: The matt gatefold is clean, bright, fresh and unmarked with no real wear to speak of on either the outer or inner surfaces, the edges or the spine, where all text is clear and bold - there is just a slight touch of storage wear on the corners. A very fine example of this easily worn, untreated cover - EXCELLENT+
INSERT: The thin paper lyric insert is clean and unmarked with just some light signs of handling - EXCELLENT
