LP jacket is slightly warped and shows slight bumps in all of the usual places for an old LP.  Record sleeve liner has old tape repairs but is bright white and clean.  LP record has a few very minor scuffs.

Wilson became the first member of The Beach Boys to undertake a solo project.  Released in August 1977, Pacific Ocean Blue received glowing reviews for its depth and emotion.  It has allegedly been praised by his older brother Brian Wilson, but in a 2008 interview with Pitchfork Media, Brian denied knowing that Dennis had recorded an album at all. The album also performed encouragingly in the U.S. charts peaking at #96 for a 12 week chart stay, and eventually went on to sell almost 300,000 copies.

It is also notable that Dennis' hard living had begun affecting his looks and more importantly his singing voice, which now delivered grainy and rough, yet still deeply soulful, vocals. Despite Wilson's pledge to record an even superior follow-up, entitled Bambu, his continuing decline into substance abuse and personal problems ensured that the album remained unfinished at the time of Wilson's drowning death in December 1983.

Thus, this album, alongside his pioneering work with the Beach Boys, remains a focal point of Dennis Wilson's legacy, even being referred to as a "lost classic." The album has appeared on several "Best-of" lists including Robert Dimery's "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die," and Mojo's "Lost Albums You Must Own" and "70 of the Greatest Albums of the 70s" lists. In 2005, it was ranked #18 in GQ's "The 100 Coolest Albums in the World Right Now!" list.

Note:  "Charlotte" seemed to have had a very interesting life!  She was a prominent Houston and New York City socialite and at her estate sale some years ago I bought a large box of her collected Broadway, MET Opera and other music memorabilia collection - much of it autographed.  I hope to have much of this collection listed soon!

·       In order to reduce as much as possible the shipping costs to the buyer, our items are normally shipped out via the cheapest possible rate and without shipping insurance or delivery confirmation, unless the buyer requests otherwise.  This way we can avoid those insane shipping charges that a lot of eBay sellers tack on to your purchase!

·       Usually, we will mail your item the very next day after payment is made, but a delay of a day or two is sometimes possible. Items not paid for by 9 a.m. Friday morning will not be mailed until the next Monday.  Live plants will only be mailed on a Monday or Tuesday!

·       Only contact us only via eBay email!  We try to check eBay email daily but questions concerning items closing within 48 hours might not get a response back in time.  Due to scammers, we do not answer eBay related emails sent to our personal email account!

·       Due to eBay's new payment rule changes, we are unfortunately forbidden from automatically accepting (or requesting) any payment other than PayPal, but we are happy to make other arrangements for payment with you.

·       Returns cheerfully accepted within three days of receipt only if we have made a serious mistake with the description of the item or an incorrect item is shipped.  Refund amount to only include the original purchase + shipping cost, not return postage.  Buyer’s remorse is not an acceptable reason to request a refund!
