Dennis Coffey, Theme From Black Belt Jones b/w Love Theme From Black Belt Jones, Warner Bros. 7769. Year of release is 1974. This is a listing for Dennis Coffey's sensational rare Funk release on Warner Bros. It is a must have for serious Funk and Northern Soul collectors as well as those who collect Soundtracks who have expanded their horizons to include rare Soundtrack 45's. The record visually and play grades in beautiful near mint condition. It is made of vinyl and not styrene. The labels are near mint except that both sides have catalog numbers and dates stamped on them. The Sussex logo appears on both labels. Dennis Coffey released seven 45's on the Sussex label (the sound of "success") from 1970 to 1974 but only one on Warner Bros. Presumably, Warner Bros. acquired Sussex and didn't do very much to promote its catalog since this record went nowhere except to the top of the collector charts! Check out the sound bytes. My favorite, actually, is the melodious B side, the "love" theme. Don't let this rare gem pass you by! The record was play graded on an audiophile system employing Basis Ovation, Graham Industries, Transfiguration, Sound Applications, and Jeff Rowland componentry.
