Description
Up for sale is a rare set of 78 RPM records on the British Columbia label. These are catalogue numbers D.X. 1365 - 1366, featuring Mozart's Concerto No.2 in E Flat for Horn and Orchestra, K. 417. Dennis Brain is the solo, Walter Susskind conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra. Being sold are the records only, it does not come with its original folio.
All 4 sides are in E condition. Original glossy finish, no scratches. A few minor scuffs that do not affect the playing.
I use the VJM grading system, which is listed below. Unless otherwise mentioned, all records are play-graded. International bidders please contact me before bidding to inquire about shipping. N: New and unplayed with no signs of damage. It is extraordinarily rare to find a record in this condition.
N-: Near mint. Has been played, but has no signs of wear or damage.
E+: Plays like new, with few signs of handling.
E: Very shiny, appears like new. Surface contains a few inaudible scuffs and scratches.
E-: Still shiny but without the luster of a new record. May have a few light scratches.
V+: Scuffs and scratches have dulled the original finish somewhat. Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced.
V: Moderate, even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive.
V-: Quite playable, but with distortion and heavy graying in loud passages. Surface noise and scratches well below music level.
G+: Grey throughout but still serviceable. Contains heavy scratches.
G: Seriously worn and scratched, but music level still higher than surface noise.
G-: Music still prominent, but wear and scratch damage is extensive.
