This is the rare UK 1st pressing of Hawkwind's "Hawkwind" LP from early August 1970 on Phillips Records.

Phillips quit the production with Liberty in late August 1970, after that the labels went black and were made by UA / Liberty. The very few Phillips made labels were blue, the later "common" labels were black.

INSANE   A//1   11  2       and     B//1  11   1     matrix on side A and B respectively (means a very early pressing as the "normal" blue label pressing is A/1  11  1 and B/1   11 2 only)

The record was bought along some other rarities from a sales rep before it closed down. This is part of a batch of rare stuff (a white test press of the very record, an unplayed blue label, a push out DEMO single of Hurry on Sundown, an unplayed Sonic Attack with the label totally unpeeled plus bag, etc.).

He said that this was a test of some sort which was discarded from the production process. I don't know the reason as I never played it because I don't have a turntable anymore. Visually it looks exactly a common blue label Hawkwind, same grooves, with only the matrixes differing.
This is to be framed as it is some sort of demo or test because there is a thick line painted over the A label and the word "OFF" written on it.

Record is in VG condition with several scuffs and lines overall (strictly visually graded both sides). I never cleaned it or played it, it could look more attractive with a good cleaning.
 ? do not expect it to play flawlessly. It is a record to keep and not to play.

Labels have some spindle lines, VG condition, used, with the name gary seymour on side A and m34 seymour on side B. I don't know who mr. seymour was.

Side A LABEL has sprayed / painted over an erasion thick line of light blue color with the word "OFF"  written on it in black.
I do not know more about it. Label B is without any writings.

Cover is in VG condition, no splits, no bents, some ringwear, with wear in the edges and spine. Made Original E.J. Day. It has the words NOT FOR SALE typed on upper right corner.
The weird thing about it is that it is no ordinary gatefold pocket cover.
The back side is not a pocket cover as it should be, but it is glued like the front side. Most probably a mispress.
Therefore the disc is loose and not contained in the cover as there is no opening to house it inside. Again, not more info about it, it came to me like that.
I do not know if the inner sleeve has something exotic about it. It looks "common" to me...
