Machine Head is often cited as a major influence in the early development of the Heavy Metal genre. Commercially it was Deep Purples most successful album, topping the charts in several countries folling its release. The album reached number 1 in the UK and stayed in the top 40 for 20 weeks. It reached number 7 in the US, and remained on the Billboard 200 for 118 weeks.

LABELS: EXCELLENT +

Both clean with little use evident, a few spindle trace lines on labels when viewed under strong light.

VINYL VISUAL: EXCELLENT

Both sides have some faint sleeve removal lines and a short 2cm surface hairline on side one, no marks can be found that would effect audio quality.

AUDIO TEST: EXCELLENT ++

Many of the tracks on this album are hard rock and most tracks have passages of loud strong audio throughout, the occasional brief static tics are noted such as the intros, but the audio is found to have a clean sound throughout and has the 1st press quality sound seperation. The vinyl delivers the expected undistorted loud audio quality, and overall the albums audio could be considered as brilliant.

The albums gatefold sleeve has some slight handling creases within the laminate. The inside is clean and from careful past storage and handling of this album and again there is little to fault with wear.

INNER SLEEVE: EXCELLENT +
