Another from my personal collection. This album was purchased from new and I don't recall ever playing this copy. It certainly looks totally unplayed in my opinion. I have played the vinyl one time to record this for you to hear the actual audio quality, which is near as perfect on my systems. This is totally complete with the original lyric/picture insert record sleeve and ist issue unlaminated cover in stunning top condition through out. These very flimsy covers are almost impossible to keep in this condition like this after 27 years! The vinyl has always been stored separated from the cover and sleeve for protection. The House of Blue Light is the twelfth studio album by Deep Purple, released in 1987. It is the second recording by the re-formed Mark II lineup.







The album's creation was an exceedingly long and difficult process, and Ritchie Blackmore has said much of it was re-recorded.






Ian Gillan has remarked on how strained relations within the band compromised the album: "I look back at House Of Blue Light, there are some good songs on that record, but there’s something missing in the overall album. I can’t feel the spirit of this band. I can see or hear five professionals doing their best, but it’s like a football team, it’s not functioning. It’s like eleven superstars that are playing on the same field but are not connected by the heart or by the spirit". Added organist Jon Lord, "We made the massive mistake of trying to make our music current. We discovered that people didn’t want us to do that."






Several tracks on the LP version are shorter than those of the original CD released in 1987. The 1999 CD remaster used the original vinyl master tapes, and so its running time is correspondingly shorter than the original CD version as well.





Two promotional videos to the songs "Bad Attitude" and "Call of the Wild" were produced. However, only the first featured members of the band.

The Vinyl

 
The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warps and looks like new condition. I can't even see a blemish on the playing surface what so ever!
 Any marks that possibly could be seen in strong light would be light wyspy sleeve removal type but too be honest I can't see any at all! importantly no audio sounding marks or needle marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops even static ticks that I heard at all!

The Audio Quality

I have played this track for track at very, very loud volume prior to listing at very loud volume. From the moment that the needle hits the playing surface , it is obvious that this vinyl not only visually but audibly has only ever been played one time before ever! The audio is stunning cristal clear and vibrant, very bright and clear throughout without any signs of distortion at all and plays with a lovely deep bassey feel only found like this on early pressings! Amaizingly, even in between tracks this is nice and silent very very rare copy like this! I would grade the audio at least  Near as mint as I could possibly hope in my opinion! An Audio Archive copy Never Need To Upgrade!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer. Please allow for minor isolated static/ticks perhaps heard in very isolated quiet places only,, but nothing constant throughout the audio. Please remember that this vinyl is an original 34 years old and would have been originally played on a 34 year old system.
Points to note! This album has been stored in a case laying dormant for over  34 years or more. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes stat ticks/crackle.  A constant clean before each play is highly recommended. This will reduce any static and enhance the audio quality.  It is noted that I saw debrit left on the playing surface after play, indicating this will need further cleaning.. ((To be honest I never hear any major problems perhaps very minor static ticks to mention at the intro only!))

The Labels

These are the original Polydor labels There's not much to say but these are like new in my opinion. No visable signs of play no wear no spindle marks that I can see at all! The spindle hole is free of any wear and of course is perfectly round!

The Record Sleeve

This is the original picture lyric sleeve no splits or tears very clean indeed.

The Cover

This Is The Original early 1st issue/ 1st UK Press un laminated  UK cover in absolutely tip top superb stunning tip top condition! These are almost impossible to keep in perfect condition like this being very flimsy! No real rubbing wear at all, Even the spine shows no real signs of crushing to mention and no real rubbing wear that is often seen. Amazingly  no ring wear on the front or rear,, very very rare like this. The vinyl has always been stored in a case separated from the cover which has protected this for nearly 34 years! Any indents or marks or half moon creases  that may be noticed only if looked for in my opinion. This cover is graded at least excellent plus to Very Near Mint the best that you could find in my opinion just as good as the day that I purchased this from new.
