'DEEP PURPLE' (SELF TITLED) CAT NO. SVHL 759 ((1ST UK))) PRESSING (STEREO) (NO EMI,, 1st ISSUE HARVEST LABELS 1969) AND ''GRAMOPHONE CO'' RIM TEXT!! THE 3RD STUDIO ALBUM TO BE RELEASED BY THIS AWESOME BAND! AND SUPERBE!AUDIO!!! ORIGINAL GATEFOLD COVER PRINTED BY EARNEST J .DAY & CO EXTREEMELY RARE! GENUINE 40 YEARS OLD AND IN THIS CONDITION! THE VERY 1ST MATRIX -A-1 B-1 (THE EARLIEST! WITH RARE\VERY EARLY MOTHER STAMPERS!
''1' 'P' and '1' 'O'' (1 TO 1 MOTHER STAMPERS!!) TOP! TOP! AUDIO!!!
A stunning sounding original 1969 1st UK pressing Only the earliest originals feature the Harvest labels 'without' the EMI logo in a box on the labels! The audio on this album is truly cristal clear and mega vibrant throughout with just very minimal intefearance \static ticks that I heard in the odd place only on side 2. I must emphisise (no) loud annoying clicks or pops or anything that in my opinion spoilt this awesome sounding original! Especially to find that there is (no) distortion and quite amaizingly I heard (no) annoying background or surface noise during the play on this 40 year old vinyl and in my opinion it is quite obvious that this has had only minimal play in all of this time! Very important note! The earliest stampers produce the best audio quality on vinyl ,,look '1' to '1' mother stampers very rare to find like this, one of the earliest off the press! This has the original E.Day Gatfold cover in at least excellent condition!

Deep Purple is the third studio album by English hard rock band Deep Purple, released in 1969 on Harvest Records in the UK and on Tetragrammaton in the US, who ran into difficulty over the use of the Vatican owned Hieronymus Bosch painting "The Garden of Earthly Delights". Original US editions are rare because Tetragrammaton went bankrupt while the album was still being issued. This also lead to the cancellation of a tour supporting The Rolling Stones.
This is arguably the best album by the great ''deep purple'' and certainly up there with one of the rarest!!!i I love all of the early Deep Purple albums but In my opinion this is one of my favourites!!! Here on offer is an early original pressing released in the UK.1969 extreemely sought after and very (very) collectable with the original E.J..Day gatfold cover with the extreemely contriversial cover paintings by Hieronymous Bosch!!
.

The vinyl.
On initial inspection this looks awesome! Please note! This is the original thicker and heavier type of vinyl with deep grooves and much more robust than later pressings which are much more flimsier! On initial I can hardly see a blemish on the playing surface! Only if looked hard when angled in strong light, could possibly (very) few surface marks\scuff marks be seen! Importantly these have little if just minimal effect on this audio that I heard when played at very loud volume on a top system!
(no) loud annoying clicks or pops although to be critical I heard the odd light interfearance \static only nothing that detracted from the awesome audio experiance in my opinion!
The Audio Quality
I have played this through track for track two times prior to this listing at very loud volume on a top system. I would grade the audio as truly superbe at least excellent plus in my opinion!, extreemely clear and vibrant on all frequencies! definately (no) distortion during playback and no signs of grooveware often very common on a record of this age, in fact this has been not been played that much in my opinion just a few spider marks could even be counted.! I have had this album from new for more than 40 years! Even in between tracks background noise is minimal, Please allow for the odd static crackle\tick perhapes heard during some quiet parts (not consistant throughout the audio) This could benefit from a clean before each play due to the fact that this vinyl has been stored in a case for at least 30 years ! and dirt and dust build up over the years would contibute to this static! I would class myself as highly critical. Please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calabre and you will see that i normally get it right. I am not over estemating this record.! It is truly superbe! TOP! TOP! AUDIO ON ALL FREQUENCIES! This audio must grade at least excellent plus!
Please note! I always addd this disclamer! Please allow for the odd static crackle\ticks here and there (not) consistant throughout the audio! Please remember this is an original 43 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 43 year old system!
The labels.
These feature the HARVEST (Very importantly without the EMI logo) (only 1st UK pressings and earliest issues)light green and dark green in colour (only on early press) and ''made in gt britain'' centred bottom (only early press) they are both in awwesome condition! There is just bare minimal spider marks that can be seen only angled to the light! in my opinion this has definately not been overplayed in fact not played that much at all! (see photo)
The matrix
side 1.SHVL 759 A-1 side 2. SHVL 759 B-1 (EARLIEST POSSIBLE FOR THIS PRESSING)
The mother stampers. 3&9 oclock.
side 1. '' 1'' ''P'' (very early press '1 TO '1' MOTHER STAMPERS PRESSED FROM THE EARLIEST MASTER)
side 2. ''1'' O'' (very early press '1 TO '1' MOTHER STAMPERS PRESSED FROM THE EARLIEST MASTER)
The cover
This is the original E.J.Day & co printed fully laminated front gatfold cover (ONLY EARLY PRESS) and this is superbe super glossy appearance! There is just minimal storage ware to talk of slight storage ware at the front opening edge and slight laminate lift on the spine.! very minimal creases only really noticable if looked for and just rubbing at the edges noticable if looked for ! the corners are lovely and square (please note this is so rare to find a 1st press cover 38years old like this!) The front and back of the cover features the very contriversial cover painting by Hieronymus Bosch.(see photo)! This must be at least excellent!
This record is housed in THE ORIGINAL EMI ADVERTIZING SERPIER SLEEVE Made In England and Patent nos.! just light creasing fading with age only. (see photos)
