DECCA SXL 2027 WBGve Ed1 BLUE BACK DUKAS/DEBUSSY ANSERMET This is one of a number of vinyl records from the 1950’s & 60’s listed this week which we no longer listen to. Little played, the records are still in very good condition, the covers sometimes less so. Gradings are based on the “Record Collector Magazine's Guide” set out in the eBay Guides together with notes about condition added. Extracts from the Gramophone Magazine review written at the time of the record’s release are included where these are available. RECORD GRADING EXCELLENT There are no obvious flaws visible on either side of this record. It is a little dusty, but there are no potentially damaging scratches or hairlines evident. When listening I heard no repetitive sounds, just a little surface noise and the occasional click in the very quiet passages – almost certainly dust. None impair the enjoyment of this classic Decca recording with its superb, very powerful sound. COVER GRADING VERY GOOD The original Blue Back cover, dated 3/59, is at least Very Good, if not better. It is undamaged, even at the corners. There are 3 very short creases to the laminate, one of which can be seen in the photograph to the left of the Decca triangle. The front of the opening is a little soiled because the laminate, when applied, did not extend right up to the edge. The record ring is just very faintly visible on the front The back is even better, probably excellent, with nothing more than some soiling to the edges of the binding strips. The inner sleeve, the Blue FFSS, is also excellent, without discolouration. All in all, a great opportunity to acquire a well preserved example of this rarely available Classic Decca recording I have no wish for you to be disappointed by your purchase. If you think the grading/description was unfair or unreasonable when you receive the record, you may return it and you will have a full refund of all that you have paid me. All I require is that you contact me within 7 days of its receipt to tell me you intend to return it, and that I receive the record in the same condition as it was when it was sent to you. MINT Record In brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality Cover In perfect condition, as are extra items such as thelyric sheet, booklet or poster EXCELLENT Record Shows signs of having been played, but with very little lessening in sound quality Cover Slight wear and / or creasing to the cover or its contents VERY GOOD Record Obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch Cover Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects GOOD Record Played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, and there may be some distortion and mild scratches Cover Suffers from folding, scuffed edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
