Description

An EXCELLENT condition original private press copy of THE DECAYES First LP "Ich Bin Ein Spiegelei" from 1978 on the IMGRAT label. This is hand-numbered 82/100. Proto-John Olson spray-painted/stencil cover art. This is shrink-wrapped, not sure if it was originally sold that way, but I got it this way over 10 years ago, and it's kept the jacket in mostly like new condition, apart from slight dinging of the two bottom corners. The top corners and all edges are crisp and free of any wear or splitting at all. The paint colors look just as brilliant as they must have the day this was originally sprayed. The back cover is spotless save for two strips of scotch tape that originally held the xeroxed liner notes in place. Those liner notes ("PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL" -see pic) and the folded insert (with hand written notes from Ron Kane) are both in crisp, near mint condition. 
The LP itself is in EX/VG+ condition, with some visible surface lines, but retaining full luster. It plays beautifully, with virtually no surface sound at all. The center label is clean apart from one or two fingerprints, and the center hole is unmarred. 
The Decayes were famously included on the Nurse With Wound list from their first LP "Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Umbrella" (1979), which combined with the rarity of only 100 copies, has made this a long sought after record, scarcely seen in this pristine of condition.
