DEAD KENNEDYS Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables 1ST PRESSING Cherry Red B RED 10 issued 1980. ONE OWNER! With NM original 22 x 32.5" glossy poster insert! From the collection of Gary X Indiana
Owner bought this around the time it got to the store, probably at Gulcher or Duroc in Bloomington IN. So it probably had some spins at WQAX. The original plastic wrapper still survives; Note the $10.99 price and Jem Records stickers. This record is still in fine shape and it KICKS ASS! Wotta punch! Ray's guitar in particular. Excellent production, mix, etc, top quality throughout.
Owner worked a few epic SF/Bay Area shows that the DKs headlined plus various other gigs; shares a couple of things ahem in common with Jello; has gazed in awe at his record collection; produced the Best of Flipside Video #3 VHS with Dead Kennedys and DOA.
From Wikipedia: In June 1980, the band recorded their debut album, Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, released in September of that year on the UK label Cherry Red. The album reached number 33 on the UK Albums Chart. The original back cover featured a found photograph of an old lounge band called Sounds of Sunshine, with Dead Kennedys' logo pasted onto the drum kit and skulls and crossbones spliced onto their instruments. The original photograph, as found by Flouride at a garage sale, had no identifying remarks on it whatsoever, and was used because the band thought it was "hilarious".
Condition: Cover = VG+. Front has very slight ringwear on top and bottom. A few slight pressure creases. Small crease at top right corner, a 3.5" crease below that but not bad. Bottom left corner a tad crumpled. Bottom right corner a bit dogeared with a .25" split. 3 tiny dents in the smoke cloud where the camera dropped on it taking this pic, oops. Top/bottom/spine in great shape. Rear cover is VERY nice, with less of those little pressure creases.
Inlay/Sleeve = EXCELLENT. Very slight yellowing, mainly in the corners. They used nice paper in Europe. Minor creases. 
Vinyl = VG+. Labels are intact with some spindle marks. Some noise on the intros. Otherwise, a moderate amount of superficial scuffs and scratches that don't affect listening. It would be nice to clean this with the latest vinyl cleaning tech but we've still got the ol' Discwasher. Poster insert = NM. Effectively Mint because it's been in the sleeve since the factory other than a handful of times, most of those for this sale. Never hung or mounted or displayed in any way. No yellowing, no discoloring, glossy paper is still in 99.9% original condition, probably.
