Description
Original Pressing! This is a RARE ITEM from DISNEYLAND 1955, the first year it opened. This was a record a kid would purchase inside THE DAVY CROCKETT MUSEUM. Disney opened the Museum in September of 1955 and closed shop in December of 1955. This was one of the first attractions in the theme park to close. It was open to catch on with the TV SHOW craze featuring FESS PARKER who recently just passed. Basically this is a Home made voice over record. You would purchase the record and you would record yourself with FESS PARKER. Fess will ask the usual Questions such as ARE YOU HAVING FUN. He then ask YOUR NAME and you would respond. Then he asks you to sing along with him to sing THE BALLAD OF DAVY CROCKETT. The boy in this record is HAL from SAN PEDRO. It was purchased from the original owner who said he was 6 at the time who is 61 now. Items from this Shop are hard to find and Ive never seen or heard of the VOICE OVER RECORD.The MUSEUM was only in existance for 4 months. The record is issued with a plain DISNEYLAND SLEEVE and titled DAVY CROCKETT AND HIS FRIEND. Theres a choice for 78rpm or 45 rpm. this is 45 rpm. as it is penciled in center. Center hole peice is still entact for small spindle. Flip side is plain. Issued in nice DISNEYLAND Envelope for mailing. Dated 1955 Disneyland inc. Cardboard record plays remarkably well and is in nice shape. A true collectable from a truly lost Disney theme park attraction.

SS (Still Sealed) Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.) OLD TOWN RECORDS does not sell re-sealed records. If we have ANY suspicion that a sealed record is a re-seal or has sustained significant damage, we open it for inspection and grading! M (Mint) The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. If we use this grade at all, the record WILL live up to it! A mint sleeve will be just that: perfect! M- (Near Mint) A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial scuffs. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits. VG+ (Very Good Plus) A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split. Will satisfy all but the most demanding collector. VG (Very Good) A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy. VG- (Very Good) A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact. G (Good) and F (Fair) These grades are for beat-up records. We only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
